we eat here and continue, and it is likely to say that it is better and better. Recently we had a party of four with burgers, fries, a Cobb salad and bowl. all were good. the Cobb salad had the best boiled eggs (that is, only barely done) that I can remember in any restaurant. the chicken was also very well cooked, juicy and not dried. bacon on the salat was exceptional. on the other and, the service was a little qui... What User doesn't like about Traghaven Whiskey Pub:
what sounds like a big menu has the poorest of the directions. eating here is disgusting substandard. the raspberry mojito cocktail highlighted on the menu was not available on a Friday @6 because of no sky! the wings have dried up so you could chop them on. the fries need an oil change, the burger overboils. I could march through every ordered product with the same answer, but would rather not see the entire meal ag... View all feedback.
The food here is delicious, and they offer a wide variety of Irish whiskey. Please note that they only accept cash, but there is an ATM on-site. They also have a lovely outdoor dining area.
After a year I 'm just seeing that I didn 't put any information for my bad rating so here ya go. Never had such a rude encounter in my life. The bartender/owner was busy serving the busy atmosphere, and me and my friend were starting to feel like he was getting to everyone except us, and when I politely tried to get his attention with excuse me he responded with shut up, shut up you see I 'm very busy I will get to you when I can and I of course didn 't respond pleasantly and told him he doesn 't know me and he responded with I don 't want to know you . Would never come back to this establishment and felt very discriminated against. It was just senseless and uncalled for.
Our experience was quite confusing. According to the website, the restaurant opens at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived on March 2 at 5:50 PM, the door was locked. We were informed that they wouldn't be opening for another 10 minutes, and the door was relocked. At 6:00 PM, the outdoor lights were switched on, but the door still remained shut. We waited in our car and watched several people attempt to enter, only to leave disappointed. By 6:20 PM, we decided to give up and leave as well. Throughout this time, the bartender was seemingly engrossed in something behind the bar, completely ignoring the front door. The staff member who had initially informed us of the delayed opening never returned. This was not the Irish hospitality we had anticipated, especially since we intended to review the restaurant for local whiskey club members. Unfortunately, we can’t comment on the food or service since we never got inside.
I visited this restaurant on St. Patrick's Day and enjoyed some lively Irish music. The corned beef was moist and flavorful, but the potatoes could have used a bit more butter and salt. The large, tasty carrots were a nice touch. I also ordered the French onion soup, which was sweet and served with dinner. The waitstaff was adequate, but the bartenders were fantastic; my Ginger and Jameson drink was excellent. We didn’t have dessert, but that wasn’t a big deal. I rated it only 3 stars mainly because it's cash only, with a maximum withdrawal of $100 and a $2.50 fee from the ATM.
I was eager to take my husband to this restaurant after reading about it in Hudson Valley Magazine. The website states that it opens at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived at 5:50 PM, we found the door locked. After knocking, we were informed that they wouldn’t be opening for another 10 minutes and that the door would remain locked. At 6:00 PM, the outdoor lights came on, but the door stayed shut. We waited in our car and, over the next 15 minutes, watched several other patrons try to enter only to be turned away. By 6:20 PM, we decided to leave and find another dinner option. My husband hosts a monthly whiskey club with a local spirits merchant, so we will definitely be sharing this frustrating experience with the members, who may now think twice about visiting.
