Warning this isn’t a brew pub, as they claim to be. It is in fact a vegetarian restaurant which doesn’t serve any alcohol. Despite these shortcomings, the food is pretty good, the service was speedy friendly, and it’s nicely decorated. Admittedly it’s not easy to find; it’s a rooftop venue on top of a residential block of flats, but easily walkable from the temple View all feedback.
What Dominique F doesn't like about Dreaming Tree:
On the outside board it says: A Magical Experience . I do not know what experience it may be but nothing magical. It is then written: Fine Dining and Art Café and there again nothing leaves me the memory of a fine dinner and even less the idea of an art café. Alfredo pasta that had nothing of Alfredo! This is the most fantastic restaurant. Everything they serve is delicious. And they serve Kombucha! We were in town for four days and ate every meal here and every meal was amazing.
Let's face it, India can be chaotic. After a long day (or perhaps before a long day? of running from ashrams to temples, merchant to merchant and here to nirvana, TREAT YOURSELF to the bliss that is The Dreaming Tree! Yes, it's in that strange looking building off the muddy parking area filled with cows and garbage. Yes, you go up the steps (or ramp past the weird area that feels like a parking garage, and into the elevator (or up the steps to the third floor. You are in the right place. You've found it!! Leave your shoes and troubles behind and enter your foodie sanctuary where a vast menu of culinary delights, expertly prepared with the best of ingredients awaits. We were particular to the pizzas, the Italian Sandwich, the copious salads, the pasta alfredo. There are also Indian and some Mexican offerings, too. Oh, and the Shepard's pie! And the quesadillas! And desserts! The homemade KOMBUCHA (very hard to find in India is also excellent. This is a very laid back place that even has swings at some of the tables. Pillows and cushions abound, and it's open air (with screens and a beautiful view of the mountain. The service is great (be patient if you're speaking English, they do their best and you'll often find friends and strike up conversations that can only happen in a place like this, in India. Leave your pretensions behind and enjoy the AMAZING FOOD and good spirit of this special, special place. And maybe buy some art, too, and support the local trades (like we did .
Overpriced for what it is. You need to check your bill because they add all sorts of stuff on it without telling you. Dishonest business. Small portions.
