El Potrillo Mexican - Tiptonville

Mexican...?...No. Mexi-American,...yes. Not authentic by any means. However, it is good food, prepared in a clean kitchen and reasonable priced.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at El Potrillo and were pleasantly surprised by the food. While it was saltier than we would have liked, we both agreed the older comments regarding this restaurant were out of date and no longer true. The food was good/standard mexican cuisine and we were satisfied.The portions were large and pricing was reasonable. Good and friendly service.

This place is incredible! Being from Florida, I'm used to frequenting a variety of Latin-themed restaurants. This is the best Mexican Restaurant I've been to in years! The prices are ridiculously affordable. If I lived within a 50-mile radius of this place, I'd make the trip weekly just to eat here! It is well worth making the trip out of your way to support this family-owned establishment. Unlike the previous reviewer, the salsa was one of my favorite items. It wasn't chunky, and it was bursting with flavor.

We are from out of town and having mexican food is one of our favorites. I ordered my normal Chicken Chimichanga, came with rice beans. It was amazing! Hubby ordered a lunch special, Chili Rellano, taco, beans guacamole salad. He enjoyed his as well. Oh the special was only $5! Too bad we don't live here, we would be here all the time. Yum!

Great food, better service! Literally the only thing keeping them back from a five star is the table salsa LITTERALY seems to be italian tomato sauce. Not just the taste, but even the texture. Very flavorful sauce mind you... But still...
