Balm Beach Tavern offers casual beachfront dining with a stunning view of the lake perfect for people watching. The food is hit or miss, with highlights like the brisket sandwich and Cubano sandwich, but portions can be light. Service is friendly but can be slow when busy. The outdoor seating provides a picturesque setting, but be prepared to coexist with some spiders. Overall, the Tavern is a nice spot for a basic beach lunch or a relaxing evening meal, with a decent selection of craft beers to enjoy. Keep expectations light and enjoy the view.
Nice view from second floor balcony, service was good. They don't serve food until noon so will have to go back again sometime to try the food but the drinks we had were nice and cold.
On a warm evening, we enjoyed dinner at Balm Beach Tavern, especially the view from the second floor outdoor patio. Jerk Chicken was excellent and the beer was cold. The salmon dish arrived a little undercooked but staff remedied it by providing a well cooked version. Our group enjoyed this place.
This restaurant is very unsanitary. I witnessed our waitress, Jess, drop our food and pick it up with her bare hands before attempting to serve it to us again.
I have visited this lovely restaurant multiple times during the summer. Most of the seating is on the terrace with some tables offering a magnificent view of the lake and sunset (especially when dining in the evening). The food is delicious, and I have tried a variety of dishes during my visits. The restaurant is small with a small staff, so service can be a bit slow when it is busy, but the staff is always friendly. When it is not busy, service is efficient. One thing to note is that you must have a high tolerance for spiders as the restaurant is located in a cottage area where spiders are common. However, there are nets covering the deck, walls, balcony edge, and lights to keep them at bay. Although I never had a spider land on me, I was constantly on the lookout.
My mother and I had a late dinner at this restaurant. My mother ordered the pulled pork nachos and I ordered the chef's club salad with brisket. Both dishes were delicious! I highly recommend the salad, it had a wonderful blend of flavors with fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked bacon, and amazing brisket. The staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
