This is the best hidden gem I've ever come across! Price per person: $100+. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall, and at noon, a truck and trailer were blocking the parking lot, leaving no available spaces around the restaurant I wanted to visit. I parked in front of their bar, and soon after, a staff member came out to yell at me to move my car, claiming that it was their storefront. There were no signs indicating that parking was reserved for their customers only. She threatened to have my car towed if I didn't move it. In over 25 years of driving in Mobile, I've never encountered anyone from a business telling me I couldn't park in front of their establishment unless there was a clear sign stating that the parking was exclusive. When I arrived, there were only about two cars parked in front of their bar. My suggestion is to either paint designated parking spots or put up signs to indicate which spots are reserved for their customers. Customers shouldn't be treated poorly simply for parking in a non-divided parking area, especially without clear signage.

In over 25 years of driving in Mobile, I've never had anyone approach me like that for parking in front of a business. I've only seen parking enforcement when there were clear signs indicating that the spots were reserved. In this case, there were no such signs. Moreover, when I arrived, there were only about two cars parked in front of the bar. I suggest they either paint the parking spots or put up signs to clearly indicate which areas belong to them. Customers can't read minds, and it's unfair to treat them poorly for parking in a shared, undivided lot. If my experience outside was this unpleasant, I can only imagine how service inside the restaurant might be.
This neighborhood lounge is fantastic, featuring live music and a welcoming atmosphere thanks to its amazing staff.
I really enjoyed my experience at M.R. Bar. It was very clean, and the bar service from Hollie was excellent. I'll definitely be back! The atmosphere was great as well.
