We have just enjoyed lunch for 6 consecutive days here!! It is perfectly situated at the bottom of the slope heading into Tignes 2100, near ESF ski school. The... read more We have just enjoyed lunch for 6 consecutive days here!! It is perfectly situated at the bottom of the slope heading into Tignes 2100, near ESF ski school. The staff light the gas flames on the table and provide blankets to keep you toasty on snowy days (we had 2 of those). The vin chaud is delicious the kids loved the hot chocolate with mountains of whipped cream. Husband and I shared the same fabulous goats cheese and fig salad each day...with a Romane pizza. The kids loved the pizza and the burgers (ask well done as medium is raw pink inside) great vibe here to enjoy. Most waiters were great there was a larger, older man who was a tad abrupt but special mention must go to fabulous Alexis and Pierre Emmanuel...who are alas leaving to set up their own restaurant in Estaing...we will check them out in CHEZ MON PERe! Mayb... read more We visited twice during the short ski break in December. Firstly lunch. We seemed to be in the minority by sitting inside, despite it being a blue sky day. Maybe because it was chuffin' cold or maybe because of the smokers. Anyway, we were after lunch peak-time, so no problems getting a table and our order quickly served. Knowing that portions can be huge, we did our standard: a pizza and a salad and then shared between the two of us. Very happy with both, nice food, good portions, and reasonably priced. Second visit was for après drinks. We were lucky, we were able to get a table with a gas fire so were able to sit outside warming ourselves and watching the skiers make the last descent of the day. But what sells L'escale Blanche is its prime location, right on the ski front. Flip off your skis, cross the road and you're there. So a perfect meeting place for friends, families, skiers and non-skiers. Recommended, would definitely visit again.
