What Doo Ski doesn't like about Restuarante Solymar:
Food is very very average here. Pizza, paella and the house chicken was ordered. The pizza was frozen and lacking in flavour with a rock hard crust. Chicken was very dry with a decent sauce but anemic chips. We ordered a mixed paella and got a seafood one then tried to charge us for the latter +10 euro) Finally the house wine was terrible. Basically acid. We gave feedback to the waiter who just shrugged his shoulders... View all feedback.

Amazing. Every single member of staff were so so lovely and friendly. Sam was incredibly accommodating to my elderly grandparents in May, and was equally brilliant to myself also when I mentioned them. He remembered them immediately when I showed him a picture and was so lovely when he talked about them. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful and drinks were HUGE ! 100% recommend this place. Price is wonderful too. Thank you Sam and all of the staff for being so wonderful to my grandparents on their annual holidays to Lanzarote, and thank you for taking the time to take a photo with me so I could make their day. Truly a brilliant atmosphere would go 100 times again
This is on the main strip. The staff were nice and friendly. Food was good quality, and the portions were big. Garlic mushroom starter was a particular highlight. Although they cost more than some of our main meals. Soft drinks were 3.95 euro each, which seemed a bit high. But, it was plastic bottles of Fanta. Nice to be able to take them with you when not finished.
So glad this restaurant is now in PDC, we visited it as usual and it didn’t disappoint. It was beautiful. The staff are fantastic and nothing is a problem to them. So pleasant. Steaks are fantastic and cooked to order. Will be back next year.
After being encouraged to eat at Sol y Mar by some very enthusiastic waiters, we ordered Red Snapper. It should 've been lovely fresh fish that day but alas the chef clearly had no idea how to prepare fish. We were encouraged to have a large snapper between the two of us. When it arrived it looked like some kind of mutant zombie fish that had been hacked apart in a rage by a knife wielding amateur. On venturing in, mine wasn 't too bad given its not so great presentation but for my husband it was not so passable. Literally every mouthful had scales amongst the meat and when I moved my half of this poor butchered fish that was sold to us with such promise, mine too was also just scales everywhere. I have to ask what the chef thought he was doing. Fish preparation 1.01 descale the damn thing! Even if he was a stand in chef, a quick check on Google how do I prepare a fish? SCRAPE OFF THE DAMN SCALES!!! No, before you ask, we will not be back.
