Bydand - Thurso
Bydand
Description
Nestled in a charming spot, this restaurant offers a blend of elegance and warmth, marked by friendly service and a thoughtfully curated menu. While many dishes shine, including exceptionally cooked braised beef and a divine cheesecake, others falter—boiled salmon and poorly executed pasta detract from the overall experience. The ambiance is inviting, but the inconsistency in food quality raises questions about pretentious pricing. Still, the establishment shows promise and dedication to culinary excellence, making it a worthwhile visit for those seeking good value and delightful flavors. A little refinement could elevate this dining destination to new heights.

The menu at this restaurant is affordable yet offers excellent quality food. The sea bass is perfectly cooked and the chicken ballotine is very tasty. The Californian Zinfandel wine pairs well with the dishes on offer. The service and hospitality are also very good.
The salmon at this restaurant was fantastic. The service was exceptional and truly memorable. However, the sticky toffee pudding was a bit dry and lacking in moisture.
The patrons at Bydand had a good experience, but it seemed like they were expecting exceptional rather than just good – everything felt slightly off. However, the staff were friendly and this is considered the top restaurant in Thurso.
The restaurant has a friendly staff and offers a great menu with a wide selection to choose from. We tried the braised beef which was very tender and delicious. The service was excellent and the overall dining experience was very enjoyable. I would recommend trying the braised beef dish. Service and food both get a rating of 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was decent with a rating of 3 out of 5. The price range per person is £40-50 for dinner.
I had an incredible meal at this restaurant with exceptional and friendly service at a very good price. The only drawback is that it is located 650 miles away from my home!! I will definitely visit again when I am in the area. The service was excellent and the meal was for dinner. The price per person was £50-£60.
