The Thurrock

We booked up for Christmas Day Lunch and at the time of booking we asked the following questions:

Had our xmas party here, the food was good and bar service also good.booked a room for the night to save paying for a cab, could have even stayed at the premier inn nearby for half the cost but thought for convenience might as well stay.room was a good size and very clean and a mix of old and modern décor, had an ironing board and iron already in the room which is handy not many hotels offer this.had a issue working the shower but with some elbow grease it was fine.after the party ended retired to the bedroom about 2am, unfortunately a couple attending the wedding party in the other function room were making love at all hours next door to me due to the thin walls not even ear plugs would have helped but at least they were having a good time! all in all not a terrible hotel yes it is creaky but it is a very old hotel in fairness, would stay here again but would take a partner to go into battle ;

We stayed here for a night at a cost of £69 which is average for the area, it wasn't really a problem but it would of been nice to be told there was a function on that night as our room was above the function room so a little noisy, all night the door kept sounding like it was going to open and every floor creaks as you walk, the walls, skirting and carpets are all dirty. The tv didn't work very well and the bathroom wasn't very nice either! The window wouldn't open or shut without force and the walls are paper thin so you could hear quite clearly your neighbours arguing! Will never be back unless my car breaks down right outside and I'm left stranded and all the local hotels of full and I have a bout of amnesia!

We had fish and chips the first night it was beautiful great taste and presented really nice too and had full English on both mornings so much to choose and you could also have items that were cooked and brought out to you like salmon poached eggs so really nice

I recently dined at this hotel for a business trip. The restaurant was quite spacious but lacked natural light. Despite the good selection on the menu, the food was well-cooked and served hot. However, even though the restaurant was empty when we placed our order, service took forty-five minutes. The conference facilities were excellent and the staff was accommodating. Overall, this hotel is in a convenient location near the M25 and offers a pleasant dining experience.
