Ockendon Chef - Thurrock
Ockendon Chef
Description
Ockendon Chef presents a varied dining experience that evokes strong opinions from patrons. While many highlight the affordable prices and friendly, attentive staff, others lament a decline in food quality, particularly with delivery issues and disputes over cooking standards. Notably, the garlic bread with cheese receives some praise, though the overall consensus indicates a need for improvement. Diners enjoying the comfortable atmosphere and ample parking appreciate the full English breakfast and the range of vegetarian options. While some cherished loyalty is fading, Ockendon Chef remains a decent choice for quick, affordable eats in the area.

Usually first port of call for a pizza, wanted something different just after Xmas, got my usual vegetarian pizza. Apart from taking twice as long pizza dough was uncooked, phoned to complain, their excuse was they had run out of dough, made some more but did not leave it for 2 hours to rise, because they were busy. No real apology. They have lost a customer. Will not recommend them any more.
They delivered to the wrong address when told they shouted at me and said there was nothing they can do about it had to sort it myself the food was inedible and cold by the time it was sorted will never use them again only giving a star because I have to
The food used to be good, but it has declined in quality. I have eaten here hundreds of times, but I will not be returning. The best item on the menu is the garlic bread with cheese, but that's about it.
This pizza was clearly not burnt! The delivery driver insisted that this is how the pizza is meant to be cooked, despite my husband and I disagreeing. We have been loyal customers of Ockendon chef for years, but we will not be ordering from them again.
