Unfortunately, we were seated at a table in the lobby, which resulted in a chilly draft every time the door opened for staff or other diners. While this was not the most comfortable location, I assume the restaurant was trying to accommodate as many customers as possible while following social distancing guidelines. I was disappointed by the lack of Covid awareness at the restaurant. We were not prompted to sanitize our hands at any point, despite the NHS app check-in being conveniently located right next to our table. Throughout our two-hour visit (service was quite slow), not a single staff member mentioned the app or encouraged customers to use it. It is important to remember that the pandemic is still ongoing and safety measures like sanitizing and contact tracing should be a priority. I would like to thank the waiter with the colorful waistcoat who served us for including a thoughtful "happy birthday" message on my friend's dessert slate. It was a special touch that was appreciated.
