Sequoia River Cabin - THREE RIVERS
Sequoia River Cabin
Description
Riverfront Cabin is a rustic, scenic retreat praised for attentive hosts, cozy bonfires, hot tub/spa, fishing and wildlife views. Guests report comfortable beds, basic kitchen gear, TV and heating/AC in some cabins, but experiences vary: notable cleanliness, dust, foul tap water, weak or nonexistent Wi‑Fi/cell signal, and spotty staff responsiveness were recurring complaints. Bring toiletries and backups; it suits nature-loving couples or anglers seeking seclusion but is ill-suited for travelers needing reliable connectivity or consistent housekeeping.
Feedback
We spent six days here for our honeymoon, and I must say, the service was outstanding. They truly go above and beyond. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and had access to all the amenities we could wish for. The fishing was fantastic, and we enjoyed watching the local wildlife, including deer, quail, and other animals. The spa was lovely, and there was cable TV along with a Keurig-style coffee maker for our convenience. It was the best honeymoon we could have imagined! We will definitely return in the winter!
Once inside, it quickly became obvious that cleanliness was not a priority for them. The floor changed from clean to filthy in seconds, and the bed sheets were far from clean—covered in hair and stains. I seriously doubt the duvet had ever seen a washing machine. My girlfriend and I ended up sleeping in our sleeping bags on the bed for the first time ever! The air conditioning unit hadn’t been cleaned in ages; when I took off the filter, a thick layer of dust cascaded down, reminiscent of what you’d find in a dryer. The ceiling fan was just as neglected. In fact, there was so much dust around that we felt dirty just being there—it could have easily fueled a fire if one ignited at night. The only smoke detector was useless, lacking a battery. Searching for the Wi-Fi password? Don’t bother—it only works in one cabin on the entire property. Now, let’s discuss the bathroom. As soon as I walked in, my immediate thought was, “Oh, someone forgot to flush.” But no one had; the water was simply disgusting—yellow and smelling like rotten eggs. The sink water was the same, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend drinking it! Out of curiosity, I tried the shower, and aside from almost gagging, I realized using it would probably leave me dirtier than I already was. Ah, Riverfront Cabin, where we checked so many regrettable items off our bucket list in just a few hours! If anyone in Hollywood is looking for a unique location to film "The Conjuring 3," they need look no further! There was no way I was staying for two nights as planned. We booked a room at a chain hotel in Fresno for what would have been our second night, and the moment we woke up, we checked out a day early. The staff pretended to be concerned—those empty apologies you get when you’re on hold for an hour, and a robotic voice keeps saying, “Your call is important to us.” They showed no genuine remorse, which suggests they’re well-acquainted with accusations of misrepresentation. During my trip in California, my credit card was compromised, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it happened here. I hope this review helps others avoid this tourist trap. California is a beautiful place to visit, and I will cherish my memories from the trip forever—but this establishment deserves to be shut down. California deserves better!
Our experience with the Smiths and the rental of their cabin exceeded our expectations. We had never used a vacation rental before and they have set the bar so incredibly high that I doubt any others can compare!Every detail is covered at their property, right down to the comfortable bed, crisp bed linens ,fluffy towels and that hot tub with an incredible view. The view from every part of this backyard oasis is beautiful and well kept. It was like our own private little sanctuary with lots of extras! We appreciated the extra efforts made by the owners to ensure we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable and relaxing. The window seat area in the living room was cozy enough for two adults to lay in and relax during our indoor time.Thank you Richard and Jeanie for being such great hosts. We will be back very soon.Best regards,Jamie Steven
