Description

Rasal, an Indian restaurant in Rickmansworth, presents a blend of culinary delights and service challenges. While some diners praise its flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere, others report experiences marred by disorganization and rudeness from staff. Many have enjoyed the diverse menu, including standout items like the chicken 'hot' dish and king prawn dupiaza, citing freshness and distinct flavors. However, issues such as long wait times for food and a lack of attentiveness have been common complaints. Overall, Rasal may appeal to some for its culinary offerings, yet consistent service remains a concern for many patrons.

While looking for an Indian restaurant in Rickmansworth, my party and I stumbled upon Rasal. The bustling atmosphere gave us a good feeling about the place, especially since it was a Friday night and we hadn't made a reservation. Fortunately, after a short wait, they were able to accommodate us. The menu was impressive with a wide variety of choices, including specialties from Bangladesh. I opted for a chicken dish labeled as 'hot', and it was absolutely delicious - flavorful and garnished with chillies and onions. We also tried a cucumber raita to accompany our mains, which was surprisingly light and frothy. The plates were properly warm and the food was served on heated stands, keeping everything hot and bubbling. We paired our meal with Bangla beer, a new favorite of mine. The service was polite and attentive, although we did have to wait a bit for our food to be prepared. However, it was well worth the wait. I highly recommend a visit to Rasal for a memorable dining experience.

The food was average with all the meal’s being dry with little sauce and lacking in flavour. We have been to this restaurant before and it was a good experience with really good food but it would seem that tonight being a Saturday and a not overly busy that they could not cope. We waited for over 50 minutes for our meals to arrive and even this seemed to cause the staff a big ordeal. Literally each of the four mains came out one at the time and the fourth meal at least five minutes after the others, the same happened with the rice being brought to our table one at a time as-well as the bread and side dish. Because of the time it was taking for people to get any food in front of them the noise in the restaurant was very loud with people talking mainly the same topic, how long is the food taking? . The flavour of the food was ok and to be fair the staff were polite but seemed overwhelmed with the task of serving people within a reasonable amount of time. No apology for the delay was given. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this restaurant again.
