This is a little restaurant, new, but excellent. Notice that everyone likes this little place. No bad reviews have been posted and there is a reason for this. I recommend this place. Frequently. If someone asks where to go in town, this is one of the top 3 places unless you want specialty food (like Chinese, etc). View all feedback.
What Hildur Nyberg doesn't like about Mainstreet Family Restaurant:
The food was average. Having worked in a Greek restaurant for years in Victoria, I found it not as good. There was no changing table in either washroom, which was quite disappointing. View all feedback.
We had one of the best meals ever in Alberta at this restaurant. We began with the incredible Flaming Cheese.
This was my second visit to this new restaurant. Both times were positive, with friendly and attentive servers. They were quick with refilling drinks and taking orders. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. I've had the flatbread with meat on it, very nicely done. This time I had the pasta special which had bacon, spinach and other veg. My only complaint was that it was a hot temp and I burned my mouth. It had little flavor, even once it was cooled off. But it was large enough to take 1/2 home for another meal. The second time it still didn't have any flavor which was a disappointment. I will certainly go back though and try something else. My husband had veal cutlets which were extremely tender and the peanut butter pie was ok, nothing special though. Well done for a small town experience.
This is an amazing restaurant. I went alone and was quickly seated bby a friendly waitress. Almost immediately after, she filled my water, asked for anything else to drink and explained the specials. Within a couple minutes she was back with my drink and took my order. I was amazed at how fast the service was, considering how many people kept coming in. The food arrived very quickly. I loved the french onion soup: it was deliciously strong, with lots of tender onions. I'd heard that their peanut butter pie was to die for, and ordered a piece. Again, really quick service. It lived up to all that I had heard, the huge piece was very rich and smooth. Their prices are very good. The restaurant is clean, with a nice modern decor. One thing to note though is that the layout is very open and wouldn't give much privacy to those who may want it. I enjoyed the familiar family friendly songs on the radio. A super restaurant with great food, great service and great prices.

Nicely prepared menu with enough creativity to make things interesting while still catering to the necessary items in a small town like this. VERY generous portions, you won't leave hungry. The baked lasagna was very good and massive. Burger had great flavor. Would like to see cheese curds on the poutine, but that seems to be a rare find these days. Can't comment on the pizza, hope to try soon, but they seem popular, saw several take out orders leave during dinner service. Nice spot.
