Went to Jin Myungdong for dinner with minimal expectations, and now it has become one of my go-to places for some serious korean dumpling eating. Their kimchi side dish was exceptionally fresh and their king dumplings were so delicious...highly recommend ordering the one with kimchi. If you want to try both regular and kimchi dumplings ask for half and half. Also tried their Bulgogi Jungsik set meal which was good but... View all feedback.
- #1 Kalguksu - #16 Bossam Kalguksu Combo - #18 Marinated Sliced Pork - #24 Bossam We arrived on a Monday afternoon and had a brief 10-minute wait. We enjoyed the #16 and #18 in particular. The service was friendly and prompt! We loved the food so much that we decided to return before leaving Toronto to get our own #1 Kalguksu and share a #24 Bossam. The Kalguksu broth was simple yet incredibly flavorful, and the noodles were delightfully soft and chewy—truly a warm embrace for the soul! The pork was tasty, but the true highlight was the Bossam! The meat was wonderfully soft and tender, and paired with the sauces—especially the shrimp sauce—and the house kimchi, it was absolutely amazing!
Kalguksu: It’s delicious and filling – after all, they are noodles. The broth has a slight spiciness and a good level of saltiness, while the noodles have a delightful springy texture. I’d give it a 7.3 out of 10. Bulgogi: This dish tastes like your average bulgogi. I would rate it a 6.9 out of 10. As for the kimchi, it’s unexpectedly sweet and crunchy, but quite mild in terms of fermentation and sourness. It's probably the sweetest kimchi I've encountered in a Korean restaurant.
Great value with generous portions at a fair price. Everything is well-seasoned, and there's a good selection of sides, including kimchi. The restaurant is a bit small and doesn't have many seats, but considering their popularity, they manage to accommodate well.
Basing off of two experiences. The service is really fast and direct. It is a very busy and smaller space but staff are always readily available to help you so you don’t have any negative feelings of being ignored, etc.I dropped my chopsticks, staff noticed, and brought me a new one without having to ask.The side dishes and kimchi are seasoned very well. I like the individual little pot of kimchi concept. The sizing of the king dumplings speaks for itself. The only thing I’d note is the medium size of the bossam is fairly smaller portion than I anticipated (second photo), but still worth it.

Their cold buckwheat noodle Mul Naengmyun was ok but would taste better with soup mixed in with the noodles. Prices are reasonable and their service is great. The restaurant is better for smaller groups since space is limited and they close relatively early so make sure to go earlier.
