Beautiful meals beautiful choices but need to change the menus occasionally. We are locals but choose to dine at other Restaurants because you get sick of the same old menu year after year. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Thirroul Bowling, Leagues & Recreational Club:
Went early in the week for dinner with family and friends. $10.00 daily specials are OK for the money paid. We were there early and the vegetables were overcooked - probably yesterday's reheated - peas had no taste and were colourless. The salads were also a bit tired and soggy. If you have young kids, there is an enclosed outdoor play area. Friendly service and club priced drinks - remember you only get what you pay... View all feedback.
Great Sunday afternoon here with a few new friends “acquired” whilst attending a wedding locally. per head for unlimited bowling and beers at each until excellent value! The bowling green was grass, not Astro, and was excellent! My wife had the...veggie burger and said it was excellent.
Ok it’s quiet full of locals I went on a Thursday Lots of bowls barefoot bowls at pp Bingo Tues and Friday And apparently good food I didn’t try Very nice staff And modern pokies
My mother recently moved to Thirroul and so joined the Thirroul Bowling Club thinking she would get good quality and reasonably priced meals in the bistro. I was visiting and she took me there on Thursday September for dinner. We both ordered Sirloin Steak...at the cost of each meal. The meal came with burnt steak, chips and peas and one piece of tiny broccoli swimming in cheap powdered highly salted gravy. I retrieved the meals with a bad feeling. As soon I had a mouthful of the steak I knew it was not sirloin steak but a cheap version with fat all through it. I immediately took it back to the bistro complaining that is wasn’t sirloin and it was burnt as we asked for medium to well done steak. The chef assured me it was sirloin and really didn’t care. Both our steaks were disgusting and full of fat. When a man came and cleared our plates I complained and he just said okay and wasn’t interested. My mother and I left and went to reception to get her membership sorted. I complained to a man about the meals. I told him that we were ripped off with the dishonesty of this bistro called McCauleys. For for two disgusting meals that were worth no more than each. I told him that I know what a sirloin steak looks and tastes like. To charge for a meal that looks like it comes from a soup kitchen is not acceptable. We were not offered anything for this sub-standard meal which claimed it was something that is wasn’t. Completely dishonest and ripped off customers. We will not be returning and will pass on our meal experience to people we know.
We are loving the live music on Saturday nights. The vibe has really changed. Also the new menu is good.
I visited Thirroul to catch up with a friend after an easy and enjoyable train ride from Sydney we met at the station and walked to the main street and had a coffee. After relaxing we decided to go for a walk around and saw...the sign for the Bowli g club. Neither of us were members but just signed in as guests, the inside was quite large and a lot of different seating choices from lounge to tables and chairs, the bistro area also had a large seating area, we had lunch from the bistro, the servings are generous and the food enjoyable, there are daily specials and prices reasonable. Alcohol prices seemed a littler more expensive than I was expecting but probably about average for clubs and pubs. A schooner was and a glass of cider was As we visited through the day in the middle of the week and it was quiet, relaxing and we could talk without be rushed it was an ideal location, I would happily go back to this club.
