We went to Samuals on a Thursday night. We chose the mid week deal menu and we weren't disappointed as there is plenty of dishes to choose from which appear on the a la carte menu. Between us we tried the salmon entre, chicken and fish mains and then desert. The meal and service were just right. The mid week deal is great value when you consider the quality and dishes available. The wine list is excellent as well. We... View all feedback.
What Prokop Klaus doesn't like about Samuels Restaurant:
This was a terrible experience. Over priced, over blown and under served.. Our steak was nothing to write home about and potion sizes were actually laughable. I am a small eater and have come home to eat dinner. Priced like fining dining but really having a bit of lend. We wont be back. (My husband says this review is too kind)Ordinary service having to ask for water glasses to be topped up. When the dessert was brou... View all feedback.
Food tasted OK and was well-presented, but not sufficiently memorable to justify the high-end price tag. Serving barbeque wines ($12 at bottleshop) at $48 really rubbed it in. Reality check required!

We attended a private function at Samuels bar. It was a set menu of finger food, $35 per head. The majority of guests had very little food during the evening. Wait staff were scarce, one of the guests handed a plate of food our way on two occasions. By the time we did get a plate of food the biscuit was soggy and unappetising. We certainly did not get value for money. The drinks were overpriced, $12.50 for a glass of wine. One glass of wine i ordered was handed to me in a hot glass, the waiter could not understand why i did not want to accept it.Most of the guests were left feeling ripped off and left starving, stopping on the way home for food.I have spoken to many people who were there on the evening and not one of them will ever return, they will tell many of their friends about the appalling experience.
The entree of pork tenderloin with orange, ginger gel , beetroot ice cream and rosemary was divine. Our mains were also great and we tasted a vegetable called sea spray for the first time. The hard sheeps milk cheese from the south of France (Ossau -Iraty) with flavours of nuts, fruits and herbs was a perfect ending to a great meal. of course accompanied by a glass of "sticky"!I can't rate this restaurant highly enough.Wonderful experience.
Lovely place to dine, nice food, good service and great wine selection. Cool bar attached to the restaurant to hangout at!
