Hummingbird Tea Room Bakery

I made a reservation in advance and requested a vegan afternoon tea. The owner not only welcomed me warmly and was very knowledgeable about tea, but also went out of her way to make sure I had completely vegan options. I enjoyed finger sandwiches, scones, desserts, and even alternative milk (oat) for my tea. This was the best vegan tea service and hospitality experience I have ever had!

The tee service is from this world. they must order at least the day before and it is expensive, but so it is worth it. I love to go for special occasions for tee!

We were there last Monday for a mommy/daughter date for High tea, a total of 7 women and 10 kids. First off, I want to say food was really good and the experience was great right until it was time to pay. The person from our group who had called and made the reservation had a messenger conversation with hummingbird about pricing. They’d called to confirm once again the total amount of people to attend.The owner insisted that the price was $14/person higher than what was in the messenger conversation. We told her that it was unfair that she would change price on us last minute. She got really frustrated and finally said she would charge us the right amount.What really bothered me was her mumbling about “people wanting to come in to restaurants and get a discount” no ma’am, we are not hagglers but do live off principle. She was also mumbling that $14 was going to “break us”, very rude and unprofessional!

Amazing cute atmosphere, great food but service was not great. We were quoted a price for a big party via email and then when we went to pay it was way more and she would not budge. Was not a pleasant experience at the end which I’m so sad to say. 3 out 5

The owner is a great host. The tea service was beautifully presented. I enjoyed the tea suggestions. I enjoyed the outdoor seating. The macaroons were delicious.
