Darrell's Diner - The Villages

The atmosphere has a nostalgic, vintage diner feel, but it's incredibly well-maintained and spotless. The food was outstanding and very affordable. I highly recommend trying the biscuits and gravy—don't forget to order half, because you'll definitely want more! Overall, we enjoyed hot, delicious meals served with a friendly smile. What more could you ask for?

I really love this restaurant, but there's a major issue with one of the waitresses. Cathy needs to go. Multiple customers have expressed complaints about her, yet she remains employed there. Today, she was particularly rude to a woman in a wheelchair, complaining that she was too close to the edge of the table and blocking the aisle. At the next table, she addressed a man with a walker, telling him he was obstructing the pathway, which she claimed violated fire codes. This was all conveyed with a very negative attitude. When we tried to assist these individuals, Cathy shot us a disdainful look. Shortly after, she seated a fifth person at a table that was blocking the same area, completely contradicting her previous actions. We come here regularly—two to three times a week—but we're now considering finding a new place since we can't support a restaurant that tolerates bad employees.

This is one of our favorite breakfast / restaurants in The Villages. It took about 45 minutes to get 2 breakfasts. Today, that seemed fast. The coffee was good. They must have been coughing; only half of the toast was baked.

The service was excellent, thanks to Cathy and Jackie! The hash browns and cookies were outstanding. It's a fantastic breakfast spot that opens early!
