what a lush little coffee shop was that. I was on dinas powys at a waking retreat and went out to find somewhere to do some writing from all the others. this place is very popular, the cappuccinos I had were delicious with a beautiful smooth medium strength coffee bean. View all feedback.
This charming restaurant offers a variety of coffee and cakes in a minimalist setting. The staff is friendly and the clientele is eclectic. I enjoyed a delicious sausage roll and a cold drink. Overall, it's a great spot for a relaxing weekend drink.
I went to this restaurant with friends for a casual get-together. We received a friendly welcome and found a table to sit at. The menu is limited, but the options available were delicious. We also tried freshly baked croissants, sausage rolls, tiffins, sourdough bread, and white chocolate biscuits, which were only available until they ran out. We ordered the breakfast, which included scrambled eggs, sausages, and sourdough bread with chorizo salsa on top - all very tasty. The oats were also delicious. The owner roasts their own coffee, which we found to be very flavorful, and the chocochino was creamy and enjoyable. You order your food at the counter, which may take a bit of time as everything is made fresh, but it is worth the wait. The atmosphere, background music, and original artwork on the walls added to the overall experience. This is a great place to meet friends, have meetings, or simply relax with a good book, coffee, and food. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and we will definitely be returning.
The coffee is amazing, the people, the atmosphere and music even better! Homemade sausage rolls to die for. Always a warm welcome.
My wife had been on about going here for lunch for some time so popped in yesterday. Was starving and when saw the menu, thought we'd made a mistake. The selection of food is very small and mainly consists of something on toast. Went for what I thought would be most substantial, the Avocado, feta cheese, poached egg, on toast and a coffee. Coffee came and was lovely. Food came and it was absolutely delicious! The toast was beautiful and soft, the presentation was fantastic and taste was perfect. It comes with a sauce I'd never heard of before, Sriracha, a kind of hot chillie sauce (which we went out ad bought straight away. Probably not enough for a lunch but perfect for a snack. All the staff were friendly. Would make this place more a regular if the menu was bigger.
We were visiting Dinas Powys to start a walk and needed a quick coffee beforehand. Admittedly we wouldn't have even found Plug if we hadn't looked on line for cafes as the outside is so understated as to be almost invisible. Even when we found it we weren't sure if it was open or not as its hard to see any sign of life from the street. However, we ventured in on the basis of the on line reviews and were so pleased with what we found. The decor is Scandi minimalist style but manages to be welcoming and cosy and there are a range of seating options from separate wooden tables to sofas and a large communal bench with a range of coffee table books. As others have said, the coffee is excellent one of the best we've ever tasted. We were told that the owner roasts the beans himself. We were so impressed by the place and tempted by the food menu that we rushed back from our walk to get there before they stopped serving food in the afternoon. The selection of food is short but all sounds yummy. There are no specific vegan options but they seemed happy to amend dishes to make them vegan. The food we had was lovely a good sized portion, nicely plated and great quality ingredients. The service was very friendly and efficient, too and the whole enterprise is obviously a labour of love. Highly recommended.
