The Clay Pit - The Vale of Glamorgan

I have had a mixed experience at the Clay Pit restaurant. While I have enjoyed some good meals there, I have also had some disappointing ones. The chicken korai I recently ordered was supposed to be spicy according to the menu, but it was actually just a mediocre medium chicken curry with green peppers and onions added. Overall, I was not impressed with the meal and found it to be below average.

I had a great takeout meal from this restaurant. The dhansak was the best I've had in a long time, and the off-menu saag channa exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

After hearing great things about this restaurant, my family and I decided to book a table for a gathering. We all enjoy Indian cuisine and have tried many different restaurants, but sadly, our experience at Clay Pitt was underwhelming. Each of us ordered a different dish, and we all found them to be bland and lacking in flavor. Despite the disappointing food, the staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Clay Pitt.

We have been there twice, unfortunately. The first time the food was late, cold and the wrong order. No apologies and reluctantly brought the fresh order by which time the party I was with had finished their food. The restaurant was not busy so I have no idea what the reason for the errors were. The second time I went was to take some friends and the only reason we went is because we wanted a curry but our favourite restaurant, was fully booked. Anyway, this time around the poppadoms came out, stale. We sent them back and we 're sure the same poppadoms were returned. When we eventually got our food, it was again cold. The service was truly appalling and the staff ever so rude. The food is very overpriced as well, in my opinion. I will pay good money for good food but here, one will be wasting their money on poor quality food. Avoid and head further in to town for a much more enjoyable time with quality food.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Eaten here with friends from Surrey, better than their local ones they said.
