Contribute FeedbackIn the bustling dining scene near popular hotels, experiences vary significantly. While some guests are charmed by attentive staff, delicious dishes, and good value, others face disappointment from limited menus, poor food presentation, and unexpected charges. Diners praised exceptional service, notably from staff members who made efforts to accommodate dietary needs. However, many lamented lackluster menus, particularly for those with restrictions, and inadequate breakfast options. Despite the glowing reviews of a few, several patrons have voiced reluctance to return, highlighting a need for improvement in both food quality and service consistency in these establishments.
I tried the festive menu at this restaurant and was disappointed with the presentation. The starter consisted of only 5 macaroni bites on a bare plate, without any garnish. The main meal was also lackluster, and when I requested gravy, it was served with a thick layer of orange oil on top, which was unappetizing. Additionally, I was overcharged on my bill for 2 desserts by £10, but received a refund after bringing it to their attention. Overall, I was not impressed with the experience and will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.
During our 2-day trip to Ramsgate, we decided to have dinner at The Smugglers Inn. We were greeted by Kerry, who provided exceptional service and made our dining experience enjoyable with her friendly banter as we ordered and received our meals. Thank you, Kerry, for making our visit memorable.
Kerry provided excellent service, despite being busy with many tables. The food was tasty and overall the experience was enjoyable.
We were staying at the adjacent Premier Inn and had booked a meal package where you get a 2 course dinner and a breakfast for £25 per person. Upon arrival I overheard a member of staff saying that they were only going to serve people who had a meal package because they were running out of food considering it was only 8pm on a Friday, I thought this was odd. The menu itself is fine IF you are a meat eater, and do not have any food allergies! I have to follow a Gluten Free diet and was given a really small menu with very limited choices, and as I am also a Vegetarian this left me with one option, which I was then told wasn't available. (Two other dishes our group ordered also weren't available. The staff were very embarrassed and apologetic, they scoured the ingredients list to see if they could offer any alternative but the only option for me was a bowl of Tomato Soup not ideal. The staff were doing all they could to accommodate, Izzy in particular was brilliant, but with limited supplies and restricted menu's, I expected more from such a well established corporation and won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Good food excellent service. Restaurant was extremely busy on my arrival. I was served by Kerri who was very attentive when serving me. Considering how busy the area she was working in she was engaging with all customers in the same manner. Food was good value and will return during my stay here.
