The location view is wonderful, perfect for playing with the dog. Don't know what mood others were in but have always found the people friendly, cheerful helpful. It is not gourmet food, what do you expect, but a smashing cup of tea a bacon sandwich hits the spot in the sunshine after playing on the beach. Generous filling in my ham sandwich, decent bread a pretty good crispy side salad with a nice dressing, all from... View all feedback.
What viavirgin1 doesn't like about Sams:
I am investigating how this restaurant is still in business, as I had a terrible experience. The food was greasy and overpriced, and when I complained, I was denied a refund. The staff were rude and the premises were dirty. I recommend avoiding this place and will be contacting the local authorities to look into their license. View all feedback.

The restaurant used to serve delicious sizzling prawns and good coffee, but it has been on a downhill trend even before lockdown. It seems like there has been a change in ownership. I was charged 3.50 for two slices of white bread and a low-quality sausage that seemed to have been previously frozen. The restaurant looks neglected and only accepts cash payments. My order was forgotten and the staff seemed unhappy about having to work on a holiday weekend and even more unhappy when I asked about my children's food. They probably thought I was just a tourist who wouldn't return, but I am a local resident. I recommend going to Louisa Bay for better, fresher food and friendlier service. In times like these, it is important to provide good customer service to retain loyal customers who will support the business during the slower winter months.
I stopped by this restaurant today and ordered two portions of chips. I was charged £7 for them, which I found to be quite expensive. When I questioned the price, the server confirmed it was £3.50 per portion. Despite paying, I was disappointed by the low quality and presentation of the chips in a plain white tray. I don't plan on returning due to the high price point. I had seen positive reviews in the past, but I suspect there has been a change in ownership since then.
This place beggars belief. Not only is the food low quality but there seems to be a complete absence of the fact that we are living through a pandemic!! There is a fridge which customers help themselves from. I saw no cleaning between customers. No social distancing between staff. No sanitiser. Communal bottles of ketchup etc. And a very real sense of NO HYGIENE practice in the cooking area. Contrast this with the next cafe along in Louisa Bay and head in that direction!!
Shame that food is cheapest ingredients. Furniture is rusty and dirty. Often not in compliance with 1 metre apart... as queues block promenade. Toilets very uninviting circa 1950s Brick outhouse. To be avoided ...try Louisa Bay Cafe :cleaner, better organised for high compliance and very clean , with better quality food .
