Pagoda - Thanet

Always my preferred Chinese, don't have too often and almost didn't choose this time after reading some recent reviews. Chanced it anyway and I have no idea what all the bad reviews are on about. Portions same as always been, tasty and full. Only difference was the 20 minutes time frame as apposed to what used to be 10 mins.

Absolutely rank Chinese takeaway! Thought the first meal I had there was ordinary so I gave it a second chance much to my regret! The Chinese chicken balls were the smallest I've ever seen or tasted! Avoid! Bad value and basically a rip off! Can't for the life of me understand all the positive reviews!

£12+ for a takeout of Duck in Orange Sauce, Pancake Roll and Salt and Chilli Ribs, including free Prawn Crackers. Good size portions and a great price. Service was fast and efficient. Quality and taste were not so great, the ribs were tough and chewy, the duck meat was fine, but the sauce was sweet and sickly, the pancake roll was nice, so a mixed bag in my view.

We’ve been getting takeaways from the Pagoda for the last 20 years or so and it’s always been excellent, in our opinion the best in the area and excellent value and delicious food. We ordered a meal for 7 of us last night. As soon as I started opening the containers I thought it didn’t look the same as usual. It all looked very similar, some items I thought I didn’t order that and also there were a couple of things missing. We ate our food but it was not at all good and all tasted very much the same. We were all offering different theories as to why it was so bad this time and in the end it was bugging me so much that I phoned them to ask why it was so different. Apparently it changed hands a month ago! I’m so disappointed. Sadly we won’t be going back.

This Chinese takeout serves the most delicious and flavorful dishes. It is far superior to any other Chinese restaurants in Thanet. The prices are very affordable. I highly recommend it.
