Taj Curry House - Thames

Brilliant food at the restaurant. Real authentic Indian food. I can relate flavor of the food served in the restaurant similar to the food I had on my trip to India. The front of house is very friendly. I happened to meet the head chef of the restaurant and he showed me a few trick on making a good authentic Indian curry.<br/ <br/ I always stop at Taj on my way back to Auckland from Coromandel. I strongly recommended the restaurant.

We had the venison masala and the Chicken Masala. They were generous portions and full of flavour. We also had a Cheese nann and a Garlic nann. I watched them make the nanns which was a treat.Rogan Josh is fantastic and a lot of pieces of chicken in the butter chicken dish. Food is delicious full of flavour. I would say this is the best Indian restaurant (it’s a takeaway and dining excellent standard). This is by far the best curry place in thames, hands down!!! Good value also! Our new favourite. i suggest the people try once excellent food in Taj Curry House. cheerzzzzzzzzz

Having moved to the Coromandel from Auckland, and having eaten some of the best Indian cuisine on offer over the last 30 years, Taj Curry House has to be some of the most exquisitely flavoured Indian food we have ever experienced!. We have eaten there a dozen times now and never been disappointed, a true taste sensation, and an experience we always look forward to and savour. Rather perplexed by the negative comments of other reviews...perhaps they are not used to the full force of genuine Indian cooking and have got used to bland shopping Mall 'Butter Chicken ' with MSG!. this is the polar opposite of that, including dishes you dont see anywhere else, using their own fresh herbs and spices. As foodies we have very high expectations and the Taj does not disappoint!. Very highly recommended, a real Gem for Thames.

I loved this place, The Owners were friendly people that made me feel really welcome, and even better the food was fantastic!! has to be the best Indian in New Zealand. I will certainly be back.

The Taj Curry House is, in my opinion, the best option for Indian cuisine in the area. The curries are truly spicy, and I find each meal to be just as satisfying as the last. If it weren't for the Taj Curry House, I wouldn't dine out in Thames at all. Its reasonable prices combined with top-notch quality make it a place worth visiting. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys authentic Indian food to give it a try.
