Thanks to another review on Trip Advisor, I ventured into this classic country pub knowing that I shouldn't be put off by the exterior - which is in need of a coat of paint. Inside, the food was generous in portion, reasonably priced and warmingly delicious on a cool winter's evening. Beyond that, from the friendly greeting in the main bar, through to the friendly welcome to the dining room and the courteous service... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rising Sun Hotel:
The Rising Sun was once managed by Hooky and the name stuck with Rosewood locals. It's the only pub in town with a drive through and the staff are wonderful. Meals are big and tasty, they also have all the gambling options and accomodation. View all feedback.
You can't complain when you get a 200g steak (cooked the way you asked it to be cook), chips, salad and a garlic bread $18.50. The staff were friendly and the new chief was eager to please. Glade I stopped in lunch.
Do not be put off by this historic hotels slightly ageing external appearance. The pub has struck gold with their new chef, Rachel, who prepares a variety of large, tasty meals at great value.I have been there several times for lunch and normally try the ever changing blackboard specials. The service is friendly and unpretentious and the meals large and delicious.I look forward to my next visit!
Had their fish and chips special. Great serve for $11. Cold beer on tap. The service was a bit slow, so don't stop in if you are after a quick in and out meal.
Best steak sandwich we have had for a long time - and very reasonably priced. We had a glass of wine, a schooner of butter and 2 enormous steak sandwiches for $34. Don't drive through rosewood without visiting this pub.
For a small country town, the meals at this pub are outstanding. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection, the serving size is very large and all accompaniments were cooked superbly. The new cook was friendly and more than happy to please
