Brickbat - Teutopolis
Brickbat
Description
Tucked into a brick-lined corner, this cozy bar-restaurant elevates classic pub fare—standout burgers, Italian beef, buffalo wings and a Wednesday steak special—prepared daily by the owner. Friendly, attentive service and an antique-style bar give way to a relaxed back patio/beer garden perfect for daytime families and a buzzy crowd at night. Beer leans domestic with occasional unique taps; prices are reasonable. Note: cash only and service can slow when the place fills up.

This is a fantastic spot for a Wednesday night meal. The steak was cooked to perfection and not overly seasoned. The waitstaff was excellent, attending to all our needs. We really appreciated being able to sit and converse in such a comfortable setting.
Great place. Relatively wide range of cheap beer. They have AWESOME nachos, along with a great steak night.
A great place that I frequent regularly. The staff is pretty friendly and the food is great, with probably the best fries in the area (fresh made every time). I particularly like Wednesday nights when they have a steak and potato special for $12. The 10oz sirloin comes from a local butcher and while not Grade A angus the chef makes up for that. The place is usually packed by 7. The one downside of the place is that the staff and space is limited and it is a bar first, so the more crowded it is the slower the food service. Another downside is that the Brickbat is a cash only place, so be sure you are carrying $20.
**FOOD:** The menu offers a nice upgrade from typical bar fare that often consists of greasy fried foods and bland burgers. Here, they focus on the classics, preparing them well without going overboard. The burgers alone make this place worth a visit. **DRINKS:** While the draft beer selection is somewhat limited, they occasionally feature one or two unique brews on tap. During my last visit, I was thrilled to find Moose Drool—something I haven't seen on tap in ages! Bottled and canned options are mostly domestic brands, primarily from the Bud and Miller families. The full-service bar also knows how to pour a stiff drink! **AMBIENCE:** The atmosphere is inviting, with plenty of exposed brick and a cool antique-style bar. An internet jukebox keeps the tunes going all night, adding to the lively vibe. **KID FRIENDLY:** Absolutely! I noticed many families enjoying meals together, though it's worth mentioning that the atmosphere becomes more bar-like as the night progresses. **OVERALL:** This is a great bar serving above-average food. Don't miss out on it!
I just got back from a family lunch at Brickbat, and it's quickly become a new favorite of ours. The beer garden is lovely, and the Italian beef is fantastic. The buffalo wings are truly delicious as well. If you're in the mood for a solid burger and fries, this is definitely the place to go. It's not overly flashy, but the quality of the bread is impressive. Oh, and did I mention the beer garden? It's definitely worth checking out!
