We have been coming to this restaurant since it was called the big bull and our kids were teeny tiny but it was our first time under the new ownership. We were delighted with the service it was very welcoming. A glass of bubbles and some bread and alioli . My in laws had starters which they said was delicious and it look beautifully presented. The mains my meat was a quality cut of meet and cooked really nicely and was like butter. My only niggle is I wish there was a dairy free dessert like a apple strudel or crumble or the like ... but this is my only personal wish as not many restaurants have anything available. The desserts my family had looked very delicious We would definately visit again the ambiance is lovely I would advise booking as it was busy when we went and always looks busy when we drive past. Thanks for a lovely evening
Driving by saw this place and I just popped in for lunch, in the need for some proper cow beef after days of only seafood. I left the place later on with a big smile, a full stomach and all taste buds properly impressed and singing hallelujah!!!! 4 stars for atmosphere and not 5 only cuz it was lunch and only one more table occupied, deserves all tables to be occupied so the ambient atmosphere can be fully loaded with big smiles!!
After visiting this restaurant an a number of occasions, I’ve really got to say what a great steak I have had fillet steak every time and it has been cooked perfectly.. My friends ordered T-bone steak and sirloin steak and both said how tender and good they both were.. the garnish vegetables and potatoes are also good. I enjoy the blue cheese sauce, very tasty. It’s not that cheap but you can tell the quality of the meat is what counts in a steakhouse. Keep up the good work.
1st time tonight not disappointed at all! Not a fancy restaurant, but great food, friendly service at reasonable prices! We will be back !!!
Myself and my partner visited 28th Sept. Was moderately busy, only around 5 other couples in. One waitress serving so service was somewhat slow, albeit friendly. Lamb chops seemed reasonable, though when they arrived they were the skinniest lamb chops I’ve ever seen. Probably around 3-5mm thick. Tasted fine but there were only 4 of them with a side salad and half a potato, pretty underwhelming. Same sides for my partner who ordered the flank steak, medium rare. It came out blue; she’s not one to complain and she doesn’t actually mind it like that, but for a steak place you’d assume that they could cook a steak to your liking. Taste was ok, portion size and thickness of lamb chops inadequate, as were the sides. Service was ok, she was the only waitress on so can’t really fault her. It’s highly unlikely we’ll return.
