The food was excellent – the beet salad, chowder, trout with Polnta and pasta dishes were all hits – and the deserts put our experience over the top. Service was warm, funny and gracious, although the three people who covered the dining room and bar had their hands full, probably due to an extreme work shortage in Jackson. Beautiful food. What User doesn't like about Old Yellowstone Garage At Caldera House:
Way over priced, I ordered trout and it came with two toney pieces of trout and a whole plate full of tomatoes, and horrible polenta. I started with a salad I took 45 minutes to get. I would never go there again. View all feedback.
The food was exceptional— the beet salad, chowder, trout with polenta, and pasta dishes were all fantastic, and the desserts truly elevated our experience. The service was warm, fun, and gracious, although the three staff members managing the dining room and bar were clearly busy, likely due to a significant labor shortage in Jackson. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.
This restaurant is definitely not suited for meat lovers. Although it's marketed as an Italian establishment, I didn’t really get that vibe. The views of the mountains are beautiful, but unfortunately, they seat you in a way that leaves your back to the mountains.
My husband and I also shared the beet salad with pistachios, which was again a substantial size—enough for sharing—and I was pleased to have leftovers to take home. He tried the charred corn soup, which smelled divine, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. His trout was also excellent. For dessert, the lemon tarts were quite large, but they were so delicious that we were happy to each have our own rather than sharing. We can't wait to return!

Definitely not for a carnivore. As an Italian restaurant introduced, but I never feel that way. Beautiful view of the mountains, but they sit so that your back faces the mountain.
