Last minute overnight stay. Pleasantly surprised at this very good value for money accommodation. Large room and shower room. Lovely bedding and white fluffy towels. Breakfast is continental with lots to choose from. Okay the hotel is not 5 star but I repeat great value. Special mention for Beth who was very helpful and efficient. Thankyou View all feedback.
What malcolmw670 doesn't like about The Maypole:
Pleasant restaurant, 7 people out for Sunday lunch, unfortunately the meals did not arrive together, some had a long wait for the food and when it did actually arrive it was cold, did not bother with sweet. Will not be returning and certainly would not recommend for Sunday Lunch. View all feedback.
I stayed overnight on my way to Lincoln at this hotel that is very dog-friendly. The staff made both me and my dog feel very welcome. The rooms were clean, modern, and had comfortable beds, which were perfect for my dog. The terrace and restaurant were easily accessible and we had a great evening there. The locals were friendly, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely book again for my next road trip. A special thanks to Laurie who went the extra mile to give cuddles to the dogs.
I visited this restaurant on Monday, June 5th with my partner and we both loved the ambiance. We especially enjoyed the chicken in a basket dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy, and delicious. We will definitely be coming back for more great food. Kudos to the chef!
My husband and I booked a last-minute weekend getaway at this hotel. He made the reservation through Booking.com and called immediately to confirm that the room was dog-friendly. The person on the phone said it wasn't, but offered to change our booking to a dog-friendly room, even asking if we preferred a twin or double room. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, we were informed that the room we booked was not dog-friendly and they didn't have a room for us. After waiting for a manager who never showed up, the kind lady at the front desk put us in a non-dog friendly room and charged us an extra £30. The room was basic and not very clean, with hair on the toilet and an empty body wash in the shower. The noise from the pub below was loud, and the thin windows didn't provide much peace and quiet. The bed was small and uncomfortable, with two single duvets instead of one double. I had a hard time sleeping on it. Breakfast in the morning was disappointing, with no staff in the restaurant area and limited options. For the quality of the hotel, I would only pay a maximum of £60, not £120. I do not recommend this hotel.
Stayed over for a wedding we were attending near by. The room was lovely, modern and clean. It’s like an American motel style. Very quiet, you could however hear people at their cars in the morning. The breakfast was continental but with little options. Was disappointing with the lack of options. The young girl who we checked in with was lovely and pleasant!
Last time i went the food was terrible. the lasagne looked like cat food. no thanks. the chef seemed not to care when it went back
