I had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed a delicious homemade soup with Welsh rarebit. I can't wait to go back again soon.

One person ordered a Caesar salad, which was basically a pile of... read more We visited this restaurant over the weekend for lunch, but I have to say we won't be returning. One person ordered a Caesar salad, which was basically a pile of lettuce with chicken on top. The ploughman's platter was also disappointing and overpriced. I was expecting a mix of salad, cheese, ham, and bread, but what arrived had too much tomato and celery, a small amount of cheese, half a slice of ham, and only two portions of butter. The chutney was the only highlight. One member of our group ordered beans and egg on toast, but only received beans on toast when the egg was questioned. Despite the receipt clearly stating egg on toast with beans, the staff insisted they no longer served it. Another member of our group had ham, egg, and chips, so it would have been simple to add the eggs to the beans dish. We also ordered a hot drink, but it was not included in the bill. We were a group of 10, including 7 adults with learning disabilities, and a little bit of flexibility from the staff would have been appreciated.

We had to chase them down. Other customers who arrived after us received their cakes before we did. There were 10 empty tables around us that had not been cleared. The staff seemed unhappy. Overall, it was not a good experience and it seems to have declined since being taken over by Hilliers.
