Rosebourne
Description
At Rosebourne, guests have experienced a mixed bag of dining, reflecting a shift in culinary standards since the pandemic. While loyal patrons appreciate the welcoming staff and cozy atmosphere, some have critiqued the food quality and portion sizes, deeming prices steep for the offerings. Highlights include a delightful lunch with homemade treats and commendable service, particularly for those looking for pet-friendly options. The café does boast excellent coffee and a reputation for fresh produce, but improvements in food consistency and temperature are needed. Overall, Rosebourne remains a charming garden center worth revisiting, despite some recent hiccups.

I’ve been coming to Rosebourne restaurant to meet up with friends, family and colleagues since it opened. I have always been happy to pay a slight premium for good food, service and ambiance. Obviously the pandemic has had an impact on the way that the...
We have eaten here plenty of times pre pandemic and it was great. Sadly now it is really evident that the standard has changed. We had really poor quality food at an extortionate price… fish finger roll for £9.95 was a cheap seeded burger bun...
When a cake cost £5.5 you expect something excellent, sadly the Apricot and Pistachio gluten free cake from the chiller was so cold it was taste free, the Coffee and Walnut cake was a large portion but also expensive. Otherwise the coffee is great and...
This is review relating to the restaurant we've been visiting Rosebourne for years fantastic menu for vegetarians vegans allergies and children. However since the Hillier take over its dreadful the menu is poor not even a child's hot chocolate or cupcake. No lovely vegan coleslaw anymore with sandwiches or vegan cake. Please please please bring back the old menu you've ruined my children's after school Friday treat routine! Unfortunately until the menu changes we won't be visiting.
Sadly I have to add to the poor reviews about our lunch at Hillier’s. Having always rated it highly when it was Rosebourne. The new Menu isn’t working. We had tepid soup accompanied by an orange cheese scone which was huge. The Prawn cocktail was a disaster, a few chopped lettice leaves , with a sprinkling of shrimps (not prawns) accompanied by a small dollop of plain mayonnaise, plus a bit of brown bread which was the best bit! They even ran out of water !! Please, please get the act together, so that the lovely staff can be proud of what they are offering us. It can work as Rosebourne were able to do it to a very high standard, including Vegan and Gluten free.
