I recently dined at a lovely Japanese restaurant in a tranquil village. Despite there being only one vegetable option available when I visited, it was satisfying and delectable. This would be a perfect spot to unwind after exploring the picturesque Teshima. I visited in November 2018.
I messaged the staff on Facebook the day before my visit and although they were not open for dining in, they kindly offered to prepare a vegan Bento box for me to pick up at a scheduled time. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a unique find, especially considering the limited vegan options in the area.
Beautiful, quiet café with a beautiful garden, near Teshima Art Museum (5-10 minutes by bike) and many other works of art. There was only one dish on the menu, but it was vegan and quite delicious, consisting of different vegetables, some tofu, rice and a basic soup/Broth.
After a tiring day of cycling on Teshima, this vegan rice meal was exactly what I needed! Each portion was distinct and tasty, blending together perfectly. The brown rice was fluffy and delicious, and the tofu bites were particularly flavorful. I am always impressed by the quality of traditional Japanese vegan meals, so I highly recommend this restaurant. You can choose between traditional tatami seats or regular couch seating based on your preference.
