One of my favorite meal so far in my vacation. The indian taste is really there. I ask for medium spicy and it was just perfect. Really spicy how I like it but not burning you don’t feel anything else. Good portion too for one person. I was happy and full. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 View all feedback.
What Leigh Cobb doesn't like about Taj Palace Grill:
Nice place for Indian but very overpriced. Food was great, service great, drinks were ok, sangria very low in alcohol but high in price esp for Mexico. I love Indian food so for me I had little choice but they were never busy and I suspect it’s due to a limited menu and high prices. It’s a shame as the food is good. I’ll preface by saying I’m not Indian, but I know good Indian food, and Taj Palace is very good Indian food, period. Tack on that this is a Caribbean island lacking in many of the ingredients that would be available in India or major metropolitan cities, and the food becomes almost unbelievably good. Absolutely delicious! And a great, accommodating staff as well. Highly recommend if you have a craving for Indian, or simply for a change of pace if staying in Cozumel for a while.
The food is amazing and so flavorful actually better than most Indian food we have had in the states. I ordered the chicken tikka Marsala with garlic naan (don’t waste time ordering rice) and I also had a nice hot chai afterwards with milk and sugar so yummy. Medium spicy was perfect for us as we enjoy spicy food! Husband had butter chicken and we both had cocacolas and bottled water and total before tip was only $82. Nice family run restaurant. We loved the Bollywood videos and it is a quiet place to chat or watch the videos and enjoy. Highly recommend!! Vegetarian options: They had a few vegetarian options and the garlic naan was fresh and hot as well.
Indian food in Mexico? YES PLEASE! We were a little skeptical walking in at 12:10pm and the place was absolutely empty and lights were still not all turned on. They were just opening and we were first to arrive. The staff is extremely attentive and absolutely friendly with the most beautiful smiles. The ambiance of the place felt authentic and not over the top which made it all the more comfortable to us. The butter chicken was one of the best I have ever had, the chicken was amazingly tender and I got a 20% spice level because I'm a weenie. My daughter got medium spice level on her prawn Tikka Masala which was absolutely perfect for her. The Samosas Nf the garlic naan came out hot and were the perfect compliment to the rest of the meal. We were in and out in about an hour, no long wait and great service. Absolutely recommend this place!
I enjoyed this place with my group of 12 and another time with a group of 6. Service, food, everything is great! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: MX$1–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Masala, Butter Chicken Masala
My daughter and I visited this place in October 2023, and we loved the food. We ordered Butter chicken and Naan, and the taste was authentic Indian. An Indian friend who live and works in Cozumel had recommended this restaurant to us, and it absolutely lived up to its fame. Kudos for serving authentic Indian tasting food in a country halfway across the globe! Service: Dine in
