What Guiseppe Hand doesn't like about Polly's Cafe:
I'm not a raving fan of many of the Chinese restaurants in Terrace, as I have a taste for authentic Chinese (Dim Sum)! and those, you can really only find in larger centers. But since we have what we have, Polly's is as good as they come. You don't leave hungry. The only problem I saw is that they have a very large take-out clientele, and the staff doesn't seem to be able to efficiently handle both the people coming... View all feedback.
We went to polly for lunch. the food was delicious, very fresh and not loaded with msg or salt. I'll go back to polly's next time I'm in the terrace.
The worst Chinese food I've ever had. the broken dishes were usually soggy broken with what I can only describe as moderately bad quality meat. prawns were tough. in any case nowhere near to being fresh. sweating and acidic beinless pork became. with a thick soggy battery with a sweet and acidic sauce on the side. I've never gotten my hovering. mandelhähnchen looked like the mandel had a dose shaken like a powdered mandel. it's over tossing the left. will never go back.

So I’ve read here and on other travel sites that Polly’s café offers “the best” Chinese food in the terrace. Reading so many positive reviews, I was understandably concerned to review it – and that recently. I want to be clear: I am. I am fully aware that terrace is not a busy metropolis, and so it went in pollys fully anticipated and anticipate western Chinese cuisine – and that is exactly what I got. and, you know, western Chinese food is often really good. but was pollys? before I get to it, I still make a few other comments about the place. Personally I loved the atmosphere and decor – very relaxed – and for me it was a throw back on the 1980s small town Chinese restaurants I remember: the floor coverings, the walls (and their color,) the Chinese decorations, goldfish tanks, the brown chairs / boots, and even the tellers were all very reminded of. when I sat there in almost empty restaurant (although there were obviously quite a few take-out orders), I could not help but back into my childhood and the many hours spent sitting in similarly constructed Chinese restaurants. ah, nostalgie! polly’s caffe gets extra nots for it! ok, so nostalgie is great, but what about eating? Well, I have to say whether polly’s caffe is really the standard for Chinese cuisine in terrace, then the bar is unfortunately not very high. it almost hurts me to say that if I like the atmosphere, but it is true. I mean, the menu is extensive – as most Western Chinese menus are – but what I ordered was simply not out. the egg roll was good and had a good taste; the garlic puwns were ok – and just ok. there were many of them, and the garlic sauce was decent, but the presentation was lacking, even for western Chinese – garnel, green paprika and sellerie. and I steal a citadel from my father to describe the chicken wings I ordered: they looked sick. very inconspicuous in the look. the sose in which they were clogged was not very good at them and so was almost a non-factor. the wings also wore the same presentation as the garnels (see photos). the chow my? how boring! in all honesty, I had flashbacks of sitting in prime time caffe. .plain chow my noodles with a bit shrunk up hunch – nothing else. actually rather sad. Now, to be fair, none of the food was bad in itself. it was simply incredibly dirty and uninspiring – also as a western kitchen. it didn't work out. So, if Polly`s is really “the best” when it comes to Chinese eating in the terrace – as many reviews on this side and suggest others – then that is very disappointing from me. food: 2/5 service: 4/5 (very friendly and efficient) value: 2.5/5 recommended: polly’s offers its typical small city Chinese food. it's just that. it is a bit expensive for the quality they get, but if it is the best in the city.
Polly's is often very busy that's because the food is delicious. Eat-in or take-out. Casual dining room. Friendly staff.
