The Applegarth Coffee Shop - Tendring

We recently attended the first Restaurant Night of the Christmas season and I cannot speak highly enough of Joe and his team, both in the front of house and in the kitchen. The food was outstanding and surpassed all of my expectations. Each course was exceptional, the service was not rushed, and it was truly a fantastic evening. I have paid more for lesser quality food in the past.

Went there with family,what a lovely lunch. Very busy but worth the wait for a table. Pleasant staff.

One of the nicest garden centre cafes I think I’ve ever been to. Professional without that soulless corporate feeling you sometimes get. Food was tasty too!

My sister and I both ordered flat whites and fish and chips. The meal was fantastic and we were so satisfied that we had no space left for dessert. However, they do offer a cake takeaway service in case you want to enjoy dessert at home.

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The gluten-free tuna sandwich I ordered was smaller than expected and the bread was not of the usual standard. The salad accompanying the sandwich was lackluster. The salt beef bagel was also underwhelming, as the beef was hard to find and tasted more like bacon. The portion sizes were small for the price, especially at £12.95. The cappuccino coffee had too much froth. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied.
