We've never experienced anything like it! The waitress was very funny; she was always quick-witted and had a good joke ready. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely eat there again. It feels like home. Food just like Mom used to make. Highly recommended!

I went to the Grünling restaurant with a friend. Since he knew the place, we reserved a table, which was absolutely the right decision. The restaurant was very busy. If you're expecting a modernly furnished restaurant, this isn't the place for you. It's a rustic establishment with plenty of local Templin charm. Despite the place being packed, the service was quick, and we didn't have long to get our drinks. The menu features good, traditional German dishes, but also some convenience foods, which didn't detract from the overall quality of the food. For my starter, I had the Solyanka soup, which I, as a child of the former East Germany, really enjoyed. For my main course, I had Gypsy schnitzel with potato dumplings filled with herb quark. The schnitzel was tender and well-breaded; the potato dumplings were frozen, but tasty nonetheless. My companion had the pike-perch fillet with potatoes and salad, which was also very good. The highlight was the dessert: a chocolate cake with a molten center on a bed of red berry compote and vanilla sauce—absolutely delicious. I had the Solyanka soup as a starter, which, as I know, was a child of the former East Germany, really enjoyed. Those who like a cozy atmosphere and good food will feel right at home at Grünling.
