Description

Tucked near ASU, this no‑frills family restaurant offers bold Yemeni and African dishes—chicken biryani, lamb and goat mandi, falafel and hummus—with generous portions, warm service and floor-or-table seating. Loyal diners praise authentic, well‑spiced flavors and hearty value, but multiple serious sanitation and pricing concerns have been reported (flies/roaches, dirty surfaces, possible food‑safety issues and menu price discrepancies). Consider it for flavorful, homey meals but confirm cleanliness and final prices before dining.

This place is a hidden gem located at the heart of ASU. Interestingly, it's no longer called Juba, and you won't find that name on the front door. It's a simple, no-frills family restaurant, but the food is incredible. My friend ordered goat mandi, and I went for the chicken. Everything was tender and juicy, with perfectly balanced spices that didn't overpower the flavors. We will definitely be returning!

Great location for african food. Visited on a Thursday. Certainly worth a return visit. Bring your hunger portions are filling. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Kansas City.

Once inside, you can choose to sit at a table with chairs or a table on the floor. Three of us ordered the falafel appetizer and the family meal. We were unfamiliar with the food, so we asked the waitress/hostess/girl at the counter to give us suggestions. We went with her suggestions and weren't disappointed. The family meal serving suggestion is for 4-6 people and certainly could have fed that many. The falafel was delicious. The hummus on the side was excellent. The bread served with the meal, not sure of what it's called but it is a soft, spongey bread/pita was so great I ate an entire basket myself.
