While some dishes, like the Voodoo Pasta and Cajun shrimp, may fall short of expectations with milder flavors, others shine brightly—such as the flavorful garlic shrimp bruschetta and well-prepared crab cakes. The live music, although occasionally too loud for conversation, adds to the lively ambiance. Overall, the attentive staff and delicious cocktails, combined with heartwarming customer service, create a memorable dining experience, making it an inviting spot for both locals and visitors alike.
When I picture Cajun cuisine, I expect bold flavors. Unfortunately, the dishes we tried were quite mild and just okay. The live music on Friday night was too loud and made it impossible to have a conversation. Overall, it was disappointing.
The service was very friendly, the music was good, and the food was great. I took my daughter here to try the jambalaya and gumbo to see which she likes best, and both dishes were excellent. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, and he even brought my daughter more garlic bread when he noticed how much she enjoyed it. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and look forward to returning to try more dishes.
I ordered the voodoo pasta and etouffee. The pasta was disappointing, as I had expected a more Cajun-flavored sauce but it turned out to be a bland cream sauce. The etouffee was better than the pasta, but it lacked enough crawfish tails and they were very small in size. They were even smaller than your pinky nail. I doubt I will be returning to this restaurant.
Last night went to Voodoo Daddy's for dinner after hiking South Mountain. The bartender was good. A little rusty on his basic drinks but good with the cocktails listed on their cocktail menu. Had the gumbo with dirty rice and added the shrimp. Good food and decent drinks. They had live music (an elderly lady dressed for Christmas playing the organ and singing). Definitely recommend
My family and I came here for my birthday and I was nothing short of astonished. From the waitresses/waiters to the cooks and the live performers, everyone here does their part to make sure your experience is one you won't forget. We had the privilege of being served by Abdul, whose customer service made us feel welcome and excited. And the food was incredible. I had the Voodoo Pasta (see below) while my family had shrimp and catfish platters. Everyone was thoroughly impressed. Will definitely be back. Thanks again to everyone at Voodoo Daddy's who made this birthday a memorable one!
