Description

Nestled in a charming setting reminiscent of the 50s and 60s, this diner offers a mix of delightful dishes and nostalgic vibes. Guests rave about the hearty portions and delicious food, particularly the sandwiches and desserts that provide a satisfying treat. While the service can be hit or miss, many praise the attentive and friendly staff, particularly a standout manager named Tammy. However, issues like incomplete takeout orders, cleanliness concerns, and some instances of rude staff have been noted. Despite these drawbacks, the lively atmosphere and tasty offerings keep patrons returning for more.

The food at 5 & Diner was delicious! Our waitress was fantastic—outgoing and friendly. However, the diner could use some cleaning, as it was a bit dirty and had some pesky flies. I shared a sandwich with my boyfriend, and we both loved it; it’s definitely big enough to feed two. We also had dessert, which was incredible and really hit the spot. I ordered a cherry pie with chocolate ice cream on the side. The pie arrived hot, and the portions were generous—just perfect in my opinion. My boyfriend opted for a coke float, and he enjoyed it immensely. One thing to note is that if you're on the larger side, you might have difficulty sitting at the tables, as they don’t move and are more suited for average-sized people. I managed to squeeze into the booth, but it was a tight fit. Overall, 5 & Diner is a charming little place that captures the vibe of the 50s and 60s. We loved our visit! Cleanliness: 2/5, Food: 5/5, Experience: 5/5, Seating: 3/5, Parking: 5/5. I highly recommend it—5/5 for sure!

I won’t be coming back. That 8% surcharge they added was clearly not worth it, as they’ve lost a customer for good. I ordered the Cali Benedict, which was decent, but I had to drown it in hot sauce to really enjoy it. Unfortunately, no amount of sauce could mask the fact that the avocados were hard and unripe. Biting into those tough slices completely spoiled my meal. They were also a bit cold, suggesting they keep unripe avocados in the fridge instead of allowing them to ripen properly. It's concerning to think about what else they might be doing wrong. I shudder to imagine, but I certainly won’t return to find out. Additionally, they have those nostalgic old-school jukeboxes at each table, but mine and several others I saw had signs indicating they were broken.
