What Nonsuch-Delight likes about The Gateway Tearooms:
What an amazing restaurant. We chose to eat from the middle Eastern menu. The food was heavenly. Not over cooked and dishes we had never tried before. The waft of incense gave it a hippy vibe and the staff were excellent. Highlight had to be... View all feedback. What palatogiusto doesn't like about The Gateway Tearooms:
When you walk in, it appears to be a pub. Then you sit at the table and begin reading the menu, only to discover that they mostly serve pizza. The waiter was adequate, pleasant but untrained. In general, the service is slow and inattentive. The kitchen is just around the corner, and you can hear the cooks conversing and whistling. The pizza is then delivered. read moreThe Gateway Restaurant presents an interesting concept with a diverse menu, but unfortunately falls short in execution. The lackluster service and poorly cooked pizza make it difficult to recommend to pizza enthusiasts. On the other hand, The Horse offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with top-notch food and service. With a varied menu and delightful desserts, it's a hidden gem worth visiting. The Horse also excels in catering for larger parties, showcasing impeccable service and quality food. Overall, The Horse stands out as a must-visit destination in Devon, while The Gateway Restaurant struggles to live up to its potential.
A lovely place with fantastic food had a slight issue which was dealt with with the utmost professionalism, well worth a visit.
Great Thursday music night featuring the band Horseradish. Good Pizzas.
