What Keir Cranton doesn't like about Rugglestone Inn:
Sadly didn 't get round to ordering the food as we were met with a very rude response by the lady behind the bar it was a busy Sunday (I understand that 's can be a stressful time) I 'd just ordered drinks when I 'd thought we 'd been given the wrong order I politely tried to clarify which drinks we 'd been given and I was met with a hostile response. Popped in for a spot of lunch after walking the moors. Fantastic pub out in the moors. Quite small so shared a table. I had a ploughmans lunch with cheddar ham which was delicious Emily had a hot pork bap. Loved the pub. Highly recommend it
One of our favourite pubs on the moors. Excellent menu choices, the food is delicious and staff excellent. It was a shame that the fires were not lit on a cool day but this did not make our visit any less enjoyable.
Busy pub for a Tuesday night in October. Our friends (locals) recommended the food and it was good local fare. Very isolated in the dark, but welcoming and great service.
Having booked direct with Angela at Wooder Manor, I made the short, pretty walk along the main road, past the sheep in the Churchyard to the Rugglestone Inn. The place was heaving but there was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere and I was quickly shown to my seat in the corner of the bar by the fireplace. Everyone was being served in order without fuss. Vanessa and her team remembered people's names, what they were drinking and cheerfully welcomed and squeezed in anyone walking in without a booking. The fish pie and ginger pudding were both excellent but the way that the place is run enables locals to have a chat and drink whilst visitors eat meaning that this place seems to work for everyone. Will definitely be back. Ed H.
