Dined here for Lunch for the second time in a few months and once again had a lovely experience. There were 6 of us and the food and service all round was great. Specials board Barramundi fillet was my choice and I was not disappointed. Others in our group had a burger and the vegetarian curry. This will be our place to go when we visit the area again. What VicAust doesn't like about Tea Gardens Boatshed:
Position of Tea Gardens Boat Shed is on the river which is lovely except for the small tinny hire boats starting from the same jetty and get the awful smell of petrol. Food was disappointing for the price. View all feedback.
We had a day trip to Tea Gardens and chose the Tea Gardens Boatshed for lunch. On arrival the staff were courteous and found a table for us, initial impressions were that the Tea Gardens Boatshed was a delightful place to have lunch on a warm sunny summers day. After perusing the menu i went up to order and pay, we chose the Prawn Ginger dumplings and the Beer battered Fish and Chips, also ordering a beer and a glass of chardonnay. Our meals were served to us in a reasonably quick time, however when my wife's chardonnay was brought to the table i was informed that they were out of the beer i had chosen, unfortunately I subsequently chose another beer that was out of stock, but they did have my third choice which was a hazy IPA. We were enjoying lunch relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Myall river when a waitress approched us, she explained that the beer I had chosen was $2.00 more expensive than the beer I had initially paid for and that she wanted me to pay the extra $2.00 ! I have to be honest and say I was shocked but i found a $2.00 coin and handed it to her. I have never experienced anything like it, basically I had to pay for the restaurants inability to supply my first and second choices of beer, the Tea Gardens Hotel which is about a 3 minute walk away might have been an option for the restaurant when discovering they were out of my initial choice of beer. I know its a small thing, but to be honest it spoiled my experience of lunch at the Tea Gardens Boatshed. The food was good without being great.
