Bill's Toasty Shop - Taylorville

My first time in Taylorville and we wanted a quick lunch that wasn't a chain. Bill's Toasty is a little jewel of a place. Nothing beautiful, just a big burger at the counter or one of the small tables. Very clean. It has been open since 1932 and they never close....never. 24/7, 365. We will try other menu items at our next visit, but it will be hard not to get another burger because they were so good. People worked very nice. It was great to chat and find out about the history of the place. I enjoy reading the guest checks on the wall. The Pommes were the highlight for me. It's hard to find good hot pommes. I just held it with a cheeseburger and my husband got the special. His burger was loaded with everything. All fresh and so good. He definitely went full. Thanks for the great service!

I've eaten three times in bills. All these times were excellent. Friendly staff, good food, and you get what you pay until portion size goes. It's my new favorite place to eat here. It's soooo good!

3:00 p.m. and went in and was kindly informed that the frit did not yet run after cleaning. Had the double burger with fried potatoes and onions and it was seriously the bomb. One of the best little diners I've ever been to. I'm from Chicago, but the next time I go south, I'll come back.

The best place for a hamburger. When my son comes home from Florida, this is one of his first stations! We love to be their Saturday special and on a fixed budget is perfect for us! Thanks also for the specials, along with the great food!

Not a smaller diner with better food anywhere in Illinois. I MUST SEE for tourists. Your will tell you out of state friends about this place for the rest of your life. The Hamburger and Milk Shake combo is ideal.
