Nestled in a picturesque location, this restaurant offers a mix of exceptional and inconsistent dining experiences. While some diners rave about the exquisite dishes, like the perfectly cooked market fish and handmade pasta, others have faced disappointing menu unavailability and subpar service. The ambience is frequently noted as charming, although service can occasionally falter, leaving a few patrons wanting more. Featuring nearby walking trails, tennis courts, and cozy accommodations, this spot is perfect for relaxation. Despite some ups and downs, many leave satisfied, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and the high-quality mains that often redeem the experience.

Was Anonym at Oreti a mag?
Michellen star quality and style. Professional chef who has trained the staff to be attentive while still friendly. Beef/chicken ragu hand made pasta cooked perfectly with a rich sauce perhaps a touch to much salt). Vietnamese rolls, again hand made and lightly fried to be crispy. Frankly a much better experience than similarly priced restaurants in Auckland. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Oreti:
Eaten there before and had an excellent meal but things have gone backwards. All of our preferred choices on the menu were unavailable. I ordered Terakhi and was served salmon! Food was very average but prices are sky high. Happy to pay for quality, but this was not it. We were refunded most our money but the whole experience left us with a unpleasant feeling. There are beautiful walking trails nearby, although the paths are easier to access from the park. It’s a lovely spot to wake up, enjoy a cup of coffee, and unwind. The tennis courts are available if you feel like a game. The selection of apartments is great for sharing among friends or family, and I don't think anyone would regret staying here. It’s a fantastic place, a bit on the pricey side, but sharing costs makes it more reasonable. Don't forget to bring some board games; it’s a fun way to spend the evening. During the day, you can also visit Kuratau, which has a small café open from noon to 7 PM that serves coffee and takes pride in their wine and wood-fired pizzas! There are a few options around Kuratau, and Turangi is just a 20-minute drive away with a quirky mini-golf course that’s a blast. Plus, if you're up for it, skiing is about a 45-60 minute drive away.

As always, this restaurant is fantastic. I had the steak, and it was top-notch. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Thank you for hosting us!

Wow! The staff was absolutely lovely! The food was simply delicious! I had the market fish, which was perfectly cooked, paired with risotto that was also fantastic, and my partner had the pasta that was equally tasty! We always share our meals, and both dishes were exquisite. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the energy from the staff was outstanding; even one of the girls in the back was dancing a little! Great vibes, music, and service! We absolutely loved it! We're proud to celebrate places like this! x

There are lovely walking trails nearby, although it's often easier to drive there, park, and then enjoy a stroll. It’s the kind of place where you can wake up, sip your coffee, and just relax. There are also tennis courts if you’re up for a game. Some of the apartments are on a timeshare basis. I don’t think you can go wrong with the views here. It's a fantastic spot, though it can be a bit pricey—however, sharing costs with family or friends makes it reasonable. Don’t forget to bring some board games; there is a TV available. During the day, consider visiting Kuratau, which boasts a vineyard open from noon to 7 PM. They serve coffee and take pride in their wine, plus they have delicious stone oven pizzas! There are plenty of options around, and Turangi is just a 20-minute drive away, featuring a fun mini-golf course. Of course, if you’re into skiing, the slopes are about a 45-60 minute drive away.
