Romantic terrace with many tasty dishes on the menu. It will be hard for you to make a choice. Behind the terrace is the beach which is a good opportunity for an after-dinner-walk in the sand.

We had garlic prawn starter followed with the stuffed chicken breast and fish skewer. Was delicious. We were staying at the dos mares hotel but had been out in tarifa old town every night until our last when we discovered the restaurant below, had a lovely evening with drinks on the comfy beach bean bag chairs watching the sunset followed by a well cooked and very tasty meal with excellent service. Glad we stayed at the hotel to eat on our last night!

We had actually been looking for another restaurant, but didn't find this one. Instead, we saw the Hotel Dos Mares with the Yamani restaurant nearby. We were very satisfied, the staff were very friendly, we had tacos mexicanos de atún rojo confitado y mayonesa de chipotle and the calamar a la plancha con ajitos. Both were very tasty. From the restaurant we could see across the wide beach to the sea

Cheryl and I had a week at the Hotel Dos Mares and ate in the Yamani restaurant every evening. This is not something we normally do. In fact this is the exact opposite of what we do. We like to get out and explore. However, given that the buses were a bit irregular and to get a taxi to the centre of Tarifa and back would have added about 30 Euros to the cost of an evening's entertainment, we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant. This decision was one of the things that helped to make our holiday memorable. the food, service, atmosphere, location and choice of wines were all fabulous. I had a dish of grilled artichokes that was incredible. We tried: salmorejo, tuna tataki, grilled tuna, pluma ibérica and grilled squid. All were, without exception, excellent. The house rosé was terrific and good value. We also had a red wine from Cadiz province called Caracepa that was served at fridge temperature, and which I can highly recommend. The fact that you can watch the kitesurfers from the restaurant along with beautiful Andalucian horses, is a further bonus.

We ate two dinners at the Yamani Restaurant in the Hotel Dos Mares, where we also stayed. The food is well-priced, simple, delicious cuisine. We ordered a two-person mixed grill on our first night and got a huge plate of tender, perfectly grilled meat. For our second night, we ordered a house salad (also huge) and a seafood grill (for one person) that again included a huge variety of well-prepared fish. Best of all, our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about celiac disease and accurately explained my options. Juan personally served us at every meal and always greeted me with GF bread and other goodies along with our entrees. Dos Mares does not have a GF menu, but most of the items on their menu are naturally GF, and the staff was knowledgable enough to help me choose some excellent, safe meals!
