I had been here before 18 months ago and loved the simple yet really tasty food at great value. Today with my wife we stopped off on a quiet Saturday lunchtime and enjoyed the Menu del Dia and had lots of breab with a great aoili, a generous mixed salad and we went fo the two person paella which came with chicken, pork, rabbit, squid, green beans which was excellent. to finish we had flan and cheesecake both lovely. Followed by coffee. Coke wine with the meal. €12 perhead for the meal and the coffee was $1 each on top fantastic value. Will happily come here again
We enjoyed the drive from Jalon to Tarbena immensely, up and over Coll de Rates, with magnificent views but we were on a mission to find a new place to eat. There are various places offering food in and on the way to Tarbena but we stopped at Ca's Pelut as the sign said it specialised in paellas. We hadn't booked but the nice lady found us a table on the terrace with views across to Albir and Benidorm. I think it would be advisable to book at this time of year as the place was actually full. There is a choice of main courses for 12 euros or 15 euros and the starter of a large dish of salad, bread and ali-oli, dessert and a bottle of wine was included in these prices. The salad was really good and quite enough for a starter. And then the paella came in a massive dish just for us two and we helped ourselves. Chicken, rabbit, vegetables, sepia pieces and garlic were the contents of a very moist and tasty dish- we were full up at the end so just had ice cream which was very pleasant too. I would really recommend this place for the food and the view plus really nice staff but don't expect posh table clothes and seats-it is a place where the workers go too so enough said. Well worth the journey and we came back via Castells de Castells so a nice round trip.
This little bar is a little out of the town and the sigposts to it are rather faded. It has a terrace with superb views down the valley towards Benidorm. The Spanish lady who runs the bar is very pleasant and we ordered the speciality of the house Valencian Paella. Starter was a freshly prepared salad and came with plenty of crusty bread and alioli. The paella was well prepared and there were at least 4 other large paellas being eaten whilst we were there. Clearly a popular stopping place for walkers, cyclists and locals we all enjoyed our meal and the almond flan(homemade) was very tasty. A good value meal for only eu 14 uncluding coffee and plenty of wine. On a sunny day in spring the terrace was lovely for eating our meal. It may get a little too hot there in summer.
Such a great experience. So glad we took the recommendation to try this special restaurant. The setting is amazing with some of the best views we have experienced in Spain. We choose Paella it was one of the most flavoursome ever. The service was friendly and efficient. At 12 euros a head amazing value. We will return and recommend
This restaurant is a little off the beaten track just outside Tarbena on the Parcent road. You have to watch for the small sign at the end of the road and you need to turn right after a 100 yards on this narrow road to get to the restaurant. The views from the terrace are spectacular. The owner is most obliging and offers two menus at 12 and 15 euros. This includes house wine, bread and ali oli, a tuna salad starter, a main course and a desert. The lamb was slow cooked and falling off the bone and all seven of our party enjoyed their choices. It is a restaurant that is popular with local Spanish people and you can have a traditional paella if you order in advance.
