The Bavarian - Taos Ski Valley

Super pretty area, so peaceful. The Bavarian has a wonderful deck and picnic tables, great food, and beautiful German architecture mixed with mountain ambiance in Carson National Forest.

Surprisingly good food, better than it had to be. I had a brat, which was nicely smoky. My wife had the chicken schnitzel, which was nice and crispy. Also the beers on tap were great. Highly recommended, and worth the drive, even if the boys running Lift 4 don’t feel like working.

Worst food ever : it is very hard to mess up German food and they did. Never had such bad quality of food and they don’t seem to care. A shame of a place full of potential

What an awesome place and at a perfect location at the bottom of lift 4! Whether winter or summer, no matter what activity stirs up an appetite, it’s easy to come straight here and get a decent meal! Better yet, by the time we ordered to when we got our food, it was maybe 15 minutes? Even if you do have to wait, there is a large drink selection of local ciders and beers, as well as non alcoholic drinks. The menu has something for everyone, and the dessert menu has variety, too! Our food was delicious, and there was a thing that tasted off or poor to us. The portions are large and the appetizers especially could do well for a family if you wanted to try a few different things! Everything was so flavorful and delicious, and the view wasn’t half bad, either!! The winter time I’m sure is beautiful, and I can only imagine how amazing that time is after a ski with some hot chocolate or cider. We will definitely be back!! Wheelchair accessibility: There are some stairs, but I do believe there was a ramp to the side!

A surprisingly delicious food. Everything I tasted was amazing! Service was great, you order at the counter and they will bring it out to you (at least during summer months) Price point was great considering the location! Owner was so helpful and sweet! We came back daily during our Taos visit.
