It was early dinner time we decided to try this place which was in the La Residencia Tanjay, a 9-room hotel in the city’s center. The restaurant is in the hotels lobby with about 6 tables next to a bigger room which I suppose is for parties or meetings. It was airconditioned which was nice relief from the high humidity outside. We ordered pork tenderloin, pancit Canton, bangus ala pobre with Pepsi Max. It took an inordinately long time for our orders to arrive. We noticed that there was only one male staff attending to the diners, taking orders while acting as bartender. He also attended to a guest at the hotel front desk. Very efficient but we jokingly asked him if he was also doing the cooking, thus the delay. The food: the pork tenderloin on a hot plate was not tender but good enough. The pancit was also OK, the bangus was also on a hot plate, good enough. At their prices, this restaurant is quite good. And kudos to the waiter/bartender cum front desk staff. Later one kitchen staff came out, maybe the cook and joined in our banter of who was what.
Good food as always! Try their steak and bangus ala pobre. Lamia!
