Booked in advance for lunch/afternoon tea. Arrived after an hour plus drive from home, as did my friend, to find they were shut and a note in the window. I understand due to train strikes staff were unable to come in and they couldn’t open but why didn’t they let those with bookings know?! Had my mobile number from when I made the booking via text. We had the best scrambled eggs ever when visiting. Both owners were so friendly and hospitable. We will actually drive out there just to stop in for a cuppa even though it’s an hour away.
