A quaint little cafe... specializing in handmade chiffon cake from what I can see on their menu. It also rents out some rooms to stay. ICHIE is about a 10 minut... read more A quaint little cafe... specializing in handmade chiffon cake from what I can see on their menu. It also rents out some rooms to stay. ICHIE is about a 10 minute walk from Kii-Tanabe Station. I found ICHIE through bookingdotcom. Stayed in a tatami room with the basic futon set-up (love it! Provided the basics: towels, some toiletries, coffee/tea, and their wonderful, delicious chiffon cake. Puri-puri! The chiffon was wonderful, thank you, ICHIE! Also, the ladies their that greeted me were very welcoming, thank you! Ideal for the #solotraveler. Just needed a place to rest my head in Tanabe before I embark on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage the following day. Happy with my overnight stay.
